Junipero Cherry Beach
The section of sand between Junipero Avenue in the west and the Belmont Veteran's Memorial Pier in the east is commonly referred to as Cherry Beach or Junipero Cherry Beach, Long Beach, California. Where Alamitos Beach ends, this section of the coast begins.
Long Beach City Beach is one of the city's principal beaches, and it's to be found in close proximity to Belmont Veterans Memorial Pier. A grassy area known as Bluff Park sits on the bluff above this beach. The area around Long Beach City Beach is rich in activities. The playground, picnic and BBQ facilities, volleyball courts, and mobile skating park at Bixby Park make it a popular destination for families.
The Long Beach Museum of Art displays works by local children with its extensive collection of over 3,200 works of art and offers free, engaging workshops for families on the third Sunday of every month. The Junipero Cherry Beach Museum of Modern Art has a fantastic restaurant and is located directly across from the museum's short, sandy beach. From the Long Beach lifeguard station to the Belmont Memorial Pier, the beach extends in both directions.
Access to bike trails and walks, a bus stop close by, fishing, food and drink, a lifeguard on duty, restrooms, showers, parking on the street, and a volleyball court are all features of Junipero Beach, which is maintained by the county.
A large stretch of sandy beach with on-duty lifeguards makes this a popular spot for sunbathing and water sports. Thanks to the nearby walkway, we could stroll all the way to Veterans Pier and beyond.
At Junipero, Bluff Park's more residential neighborhoods replace the high-rises that back Alamitos. The gentle beach and gentle waves make this an excellent spot for families. The vast beach guarantees that everyone will have room to spread out and find a good relaxing spot.
There are a lot of great facilities at the beach, including showers, lifeguards (during the peak season), and bike lanes. Additionally, this is one of the few places in Bluff Park where you may gain access to the beach without having to climb any stairs. Also, many people appreciate the free yoga sessions held on Junipero.
Just across the street from the beach is the popular eatery Claire's At the Museum. The famous Alfredo Beach Club even has its own outpost right on the sand.
Retro Row, located along 4th Street, is a great place to go shopping if you're searching for something to do near Junipero Cherry Beach. Unique gifts can be purchased in the area's many specialty shops, such as the souvenir shop Songbird Boutique, the vintage apparel boutique Meow, and the vintage analog film photography shop Relics.
